Tina Tidwell (Dancer) graduated with her degree in Dance from the University of South Florida with a secondary emphasis in Psychology focusing on Body Image Disturbance in dancers. During her time at USF, she was president of the Dance Education Organization worked with artists such as Janis Brenner, John Parks, Jeanne Travers, Stacy Spence (Trisha Brown Dance Company), Dionne Sparkman Noble, Andy Noble, Lynne Wimmer, and Gretchen Ward Warren, had the privilege to study abroad and perform in Paris, France with Michael Foley, Richard Siegel, and Jennifer Fleenor.
Upon returning to the States, she curated the Mosaic Dance Concert Series at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. She has performed and her choreography has been seen both nationally and internationally on the stages of France, Florida, Ohio, Los Angeles, and New York City. She has studied with Ledges and Bones Dance Project (LA), The Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company (NYC), and Stephanie Liapis at Dance New Amsterdam (NYC) and has performed with Moving Current Dance Collective, All Out Rep Company, Busch Gardens Theme Park, Hixon Dance Company (OH), Anna and The Annadroids (OH), and Spec Performance. Tina’s work has been shown in the Florida Dance Festival, Four Days of Dance and FIVExFIVE. She is the Artistic Director of Spec Performance and was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County in 2013.
Tina is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and is working on her 500 Hour through Asheville Yoga Center with Stephanie Keach. She is currently performing, teaching both group and private yoga and is the Artistic Director of Spec Performance.
